Break It Down: Amy’s Makeup from “I Told You So”
Hello Karminites!
For my debut Break It Down (BID) post, I’ll be featuring Amy’s look in the “I Told You So” video. For that video, she has a few looks but I’ll be focusing on the moments where she’s singing with Nick. I’ll be breaking down her look to focus on the little things that make up her look.
Eyes: Amy deviates a little from her usual winged liquid liner look and goes for a softer look with eyeshadow that stays true to her style. This neutral look brings out her wild two-toned lips and sapphire blue eyes. Here, eyeshadow is applied above her eyelid crease and smudged up to create the effect. I reckon there must be two shades used - a plum shade for the inner part of her eyes and a soft pink-orange colour blended out and up towards her eyebrow bone. You can try something like this in different shades as well. Below is a photo for reference on how to do it.
Eyelashes: Her eyelashes in this look are a bit sparser than usual. To achieve the length, there’s gotta be a mascara involved. But if mascara doesn’t do the trick, try these!

Lips: As I mentioned above, Amy’s eyes were downplayed to draw attention to her two-toned lips. There’s an orange shade on the top lip and a pink shade on the bottom. Her lips are super, super glossy. MAC’s Morange Lipglass, layered over the Morange lipstick, springs to mind. Make sure that when you do this look, your shades complement and don’t clash. Dupes for Morange would be NYX Matte Lipstick in Indie Flick, or Etude House’s Dear My Blooming Lips Talk in OR204.
Her bottom lip bears a pink shade and I can’t help but see a orange undertones in that pink. It touched the upper lip, maybe? It’s a pink shade that looks a lot like MAC’s Fresh Salmon, with Rimmel Moisture Renew in Coral Shimmer, 120 as a dupe. Other shades to try out would be MAC’s Rose Maiden.
